Today, February 15th 2021, marks one year since the tragic passing of Caroline Flack.

The Love Island host was found dead in her London apartment aged 40, weeks before she was due to go on trial for domestic assault charges against her partner at the time, Lewis Burton.

Now, a year later, family, friends and fans are taking to social media to remember the star, how loved she was and her successful career which spanned from presenting gigs with I’m a Celebrity to co-presenting The Xtra Factor with Olly Murs, to her then meteoric rise when she landed the Love Island in 2015.

Leading the tributes, Caroline’s PR and close friend Nathan Charles Smith shared some videos of Caroline from shoots they worked on to BTS of her preparing to tour with musical Crazy For You.

Nathan continued the tribute by adding that he hopes Caroline is “still singing”.

Also taking to social media, Caroline’s ex Lewis Burton shared a throwback snap of the pair on holidays. Writing “one year” alongside a broken heart emoji, Lewis continued by saying “I will never forget you”.

Caroline and Lewis dated for a couple of months, going official on social media by sharing a photo kissing in August 2019.

Also taking to social media today to pay tribute was Laura Whitmore.

The Bray native took over from Caroline Flack in her Love Island presenting duties amid Caroline’s legal battle at the time. The pair were known to be very close, with Caroline giving Laura her blessing to take over the reigns on the show prior to her announcement as the new presenter.

Today, Laura shared a quote alongside a photo of Caroline and a screenshot of her live on air for BBC Radio 5 Live.

The quote read:

“You got to laugh a little, cry a little, until the clouds roll by a little…”

Today, the VO and comedian shared his love for Caroline by saying:

“To my friend Caroline, thinking of you today. Miss you mate x”

Also sharing remembrance, Love Island posted a tribute to mark Caroline’s live, writing “always in our hearts…”

Caroline was front woman of the show for a number of years, starting with the show’s first season in 2015.

Today she is remembered by those who knew her both personally and through her work, may she rest in peace.
