Suits Star Patrick J Adams Admits ‘Pure Fear’ Stops Him From Reaching Out To Meghan Markle

Patrick and Meghan's Suits characters were love interests in the hit show.

Suits star Patrick J Adams has recently admitted that his relationship with Meghan Markle isn’t as strong as it once was.

Having starred alongside each other on the USA Network hit Suits from 2011 until 2018 – when both stars departed the show, the pair sparked up an on-screen romance as Mike Ross and Rachel Zane, working for a top downtown law firm in New York City.

Moving from boyfriend and girlfriend to husband and wife, Mike and Rachel were the show’s “couple goals” and the relationship fans rooted for; although it appears their off-screen friendship has slightly dwindled.

After Meghan departed the show in 2018, she also departed acting, swapping Toronto (where the show was filmed) for London, as she went full throttle into royal life.

And although Patrick and his wife, Pretty Little Liars star Troian Bellisario attended the royal wedding back in 2018, Patrick has revealed that Meghan’s intense royal life has kept him from reaching out to the star.

“We’ve spoken and texted a couple of times, but Meghan’s life is incredibly full and she’s been navigating a lot,” Patrick told Radio Times.

Explaining that her life has become “enormous” in the past few years, between her previous hectic royal schedule, duty to keep up appearances and press scrutiny, Patrick admitted that it’s difficult to stay in touch, and now more so because they are both new parents.

“I have no doubt I could pick up the phone and call her at any moment, but I don’t know what I would say. After our children were born, there were some texts sent and gifts sent, but I guess I’m a little scared.

“I think it’s pure fear. I guess I’m scared about the idea of breaking through whatever walls exist to have that conversation,” Patrick continued.

Noting however that there’s no bad blood between the two, Patrick simply made it clear that life has just brought them down different paths, showing his love for Meghan still, the 39-year-old added:

“Meghan is an incredibly strong and powerful woman. It seems to me like she’s handling herself very, very well.”
