Tiger King’s Doc Antle Was On Stage With Britney Spears During Her 2001 VMA Performance
This story just grows and grows.
There seems to be no end to the wild and unravelling story of Netflix’s Tiger King. The series which has become the must-watch of life in quarantine – Joe Maldonado-Passage and “friends” had us hooked from episode one and now, we’re fascinated by all we’ve learnt about them since.
The latest news which has us shocked but at the same time, not surprised, is that one of the show’s stars, Doc Antle was on stage with Britney Spears during her iconic 2001 VMA performance.
The performance which featured both snakes and tigers (PETA nightmare), also had the one and only Doc Antle involved. In the beginning of the performance, Britney is seen getting out of a tiger cage in which Doc Antle is in, making sure the singer doesn’t get harmed.
Sadly the tiger involved in the performance is no longer alive as confirmed by Doc himself.
Aside from all the other quite frankly crazy things that take place in the series, the unexplained disappearance of Carole Baskin’s husband, Don Lewis had people asking so many questions that she has since come out with a statement claiming that the show depicted her.
In her blog, she wrote the following:
“When the directors of the Netflix documentary Tiger King came to us five years ago they said they wanted to make the big cat version of Blackfish (the documentary that exposed abuse at SeaWorld) that would expose the misery caused by the rampant breeding of big cat cubs.
“There are not words for how disappointing it is to see that the docuseries not only does not do any of that, but has had the sole goal of being as salacious and sensational as possible to draw viewers.
“As part of that, it has a segment devoted to suggesting, with lies and innuendos from people who are not credible, that I had a role in the disappearance of my husband Don 21 years ago.”
It’s certainly a series that by the looks of it, could certainly do with being another 7 episodes longer.

And if for some reason you haven’t watched Tiger King yet, get on it! The whole series is now available to stream on Netflix.
