We love Marianne and Connell but more so, we love the IRL friendship between Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal because they’re just seriously so supportive of each other.
Celebrating his debut Emmy nomination, Daisy Edgar-Jones was all praise for Paul Mescal who received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Limited Series Or Movie. Posing in a snap next to director Lenny Abrahamson, who has also been nominated, receiving a nod under the category Outstanding Directing For A Limited Series, Movie Or Dramatic Special, Daisy wrote:
“I could not be more proud of these two utterly incredible people, working with you both has been one of the greatest joys of my life.”

Talk about BFF goals right there. Replying to the sweet message, Paul Mescal wrote: “You are the best person. Properly weeping.”
No Paul, we’re weeping!
As a historic moment for the Ballyhaunis actor, Paul then went on to explain in his own post that this nomination is all thanks to Daisy, one actor who was unfortunately snubbed in the nominations.
“This only exists because of you and extraordinary talent end of!”

Rushing to congratulate Paul included Hozier who wrote: “Congratulations! Delighted for you.” While Derry Girls Nicola Coughlan celebrated the win for Ireland writing “Great day for the parish” alongside a green heart emoji.
And speaking of it being a great day for the parish, Sally Rooney has also been nominated for her Outstanding Writing In A Limited Series, Movie, Or Dramatic Special.
We couldn’t deny it even if we wanted to, Ireland is very proud of you yiz right now.
