"That laugh. That humour. That loyalty. I miss it all."

In the wake of Caroline Flack’s death earlier this year, Dawn O’Porter has shared lots of snaps and stories from their many nights out together. The pair were big music lovers and as friends, went to lots of gigs and festivals together.

As this weekend was supposed to be Glastonbury, it makes sense that she would be thinking of Caroline at this time. It has had to be cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and many people online are instead sharing their memories from previous years at the music festival.

Dawn shared a gorgeous snap of her, Caroline and another friend saying; “The best of the best times. Glastonbury is where we had our most fun. All week I’ve been imagining us there.”

“We must be grateful we did it at all, rather than be sad we won’t do it again. If those fields could talk… such memories.”

Dawn has been very vocal since Caroline’s tragic death earlier this year, condemning the media outlets that vilified her and made her life so difficult in those last few months.

In April she shared a poignant tribute to her lost friend and an honest post about how she was dealing with the grief; “I keep waiting for it to feel easier. It doesn’t. I guess this is just a feeling that a lot of us have to live with now. Grief shouldn’t feel lonely when so many billions of people have felt it, but still it does.”

“Maybe that’s because no one can replace what you lost, and everyone is someone different to everybody else. Caroline meant a lot to me. She meant a lot to a lot of people in a lot of different ways. Because she was special. That laugh. That humour. That loyalty. I miss it all.”

“To think she didn’t even know about any of what’s happened to the world. She’d still have worn her stick on nails in isolation, I bet. I miss you my love.”
