Demi Lovato Is ‘Awake And With Her Family’ After A Suspected Drug Overdose

Demi Lovato is ‘awake and with her family’ after being found unconscious in her home yesterday from a suspected drug overdose.

The singer was reportedly given Narcan (a medication used to reverse heroin and oxycontin overdoses) when medics arrived.

According to TMZ, Lovato wouldn’t tell the paramedics what she had taken, and no drugs had been found in her home.

Lovato’s representative released a statement confirming that she is recovering from the incident:

Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovering is the most important thing right now.

The former Disney channel star has spoken openly about her struggle with addiction, and recently celebrated six years of sobriety – however her latest single, Sober, appears to detail a relapse.

She sings the lyrics: “Momma, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore/ And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor.”

The hashtag #PrayForDemi started trending within minutes of the first reports emerging last night, and celebrity friends of the singer have tweeted out their support.
