With a successful season hosting Dancing With The Stars, hit 2fm breakfast show, starting work on her first home, and a new relationship to boot, Doireann really balances it all.

But her most important role is, of course, hosting 2023 Platinum VIP Style Awards tonight!

Having hosted last year, Doireann is a pro by now, and looking forward to tonight’s show at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre.

“It’s a little bit more enjoyable this year because I’ve done it now. I have one year under my belt so I can kind of enjoy the day more rather than having jitters. So I’m delighted and the weather is obviously phenomenal, couldn’t ask for better! It’ll be great fun,” she told us.

The big night is family affair for the Garrihys, as Doireann was joined by her sister Aoibhín.

“Ailbhe is sad she can’t be here, she’s at a wedding, but Aoibhín and I will have the craic,” she joked.

While hosting duties will be keeping Doireann busy tonight, she’s plenty used to a packed schedule, as the Dubliner is one of the always on the go with her radio breakfast show, which she hosts alongside Carl Mullan and Donncha O’Callaghan.

But as summer comes into swing, her early morning starts are getting easier. As she explained: “Coming into the summer months is always that little bit easier. Because it’s so bright in the mornings, you hop out of bed.”

But the bright mornings aren’t the only perks of the jobs as her close friends with her co-host also help.

“I hop out of bed anyway, because, you know, I just love working with the lads,” she gushed.

“It’s going great, it’s all good fun, and few holidays booked in for the summer. So everything’s great.”

But outside of work Doireann is still the talk of the town, thanks to her new romance with comedian Mark Mehigan. Since the pair announced their relationship in January, they have developed a loyal following of fans, all rooting for the couple.

But while the public scrutiny might be new, it isn’t anything that bothers Doireann or Mark.

As she explained: “It’s lovely! We went to Inchydoney last weekend and you know, I’ve never been to West Cork and we did a lot of touring around and met loads of people who listened to the radio show, people who follow Mark, had been to his gigs and everyone was so lovely.”

“We just feel like completely normal people going on a weekend break away, but then people are noticing us and saying hello. Obviously it is a strange feeling, but it’s nothing that’s not manageable. I suppose in Ireland as well, you couldn’t get to in your head about it because people will bring you back down to earth.”

Of course, her relationship isn’t the only new thing in Doireann’s life as she is currently working on her first home.

While the project is exciting, its a long process, with the presenter confessing she won’t be moving in anytime soon. Still, Doireann is able to share the process with fans, which will hopefully make the wait a bit easier.

“People were really loving and supportive on social media saying, ‘make sure you bring us along on the journey on social media.’ So I’ve shared this and that, but to be honest, there hasn’t been a whole lot to share, the work only started about two weeks ago. Now that I’m getting into it, I’m in the thick of it, I realise there’s delays, and there’s decisions to be made one day, and no decisions to be made for another four weeks, or you know, that kind of thing. So it’s it definitely takes a lot of patience and I don’t expect to be in the house. until at least Autumn or Winter.”

But while fans are loving watching the journey on social media, they should expect to see it anywhere else, as the 31-year-old confessed she won’t jumping into the world of construction shows.

“I wouldn’t have the patience, No, I think Dermot [Bannon]’s job is very much safe, ” she laughed.

Luckily Doireann has plenty of support on her journey, citing her family as a massive help during the tedious process.

“Aoibhín, my sister is amazing at interiors, loves all things renovations and stuff like that. So, she’s been a great help with bouncing ideas around.”

“I’ve been working towards it for a good few years and it’s the difference between certain decisions throughout my 20s that I made based on, ‘okay, I do want to be in that position by the age of 30 that I can buy a home’ and of course, the whole process, it’s as tedious as people say. I was very lucky, I had my mom who, people slag me that I’m spoiled rotten, I know I am, she very much helped me with the whole process and got it across the line,” she shared.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be the most glam night of the year without the inside scoop on Doireann’s beauty routine, so the present shared her three dessert island beauty products with us.

“I would say my Obagi moisturiser, which has saved my life over the past few months. It’s like an avocado thing and and every time I put it on my face, it feels as soft as avocado would. I absolutely love it.”

“I would say my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Lip Oil, love that! And I would say Benefit Precisely My brow.”
