Dream Dinner Party… With Irish Singer Kyla Belle

Kyla Belle has had a busy year – and now she’s gearing up to release her latest track, Heart First.

The single drops on February 14, but “ironically it’s an anti-Valentine’s Day pop rock anthem, it’s about never finding the right person as always jumping into relationships with your Heart First instead of your head,” says Kyla. “I think a lot of people will relate to this on Valentine’s Day.”

Kyla has spent the last year or so songwriting and recording after the success of her debut single, Need Me. The song was chosen as 2FM’s Track of the Week, while Kyla later played ‘One’s To Watch’ in Whelan’s and later supported Bradley Marshall in The Academy.

The singer, whose musical inspirations are Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Dua Lipa, said she’s “super excited” to release her new single, as well as get started on her many gigs this year.

You’re throwing your dream dinner party. If you could choose from anyone in the world, who would be your ideal guests be?

Billie Eilish, Graham Norton, Dua Lipa and Kylie Minogue! They are all such icons!

Would you have a theme or a dress code?

Hmm, maybe a black and gold theme. I just love those colours together! And I’d be interested to see what my guests would come up with!

What are you cooking? Is it a lavish affair or low-key nibbles? 

Low-key chicken nuggets… Joking! Well, kind of [laughs]. Ok it would have to be my fav thing to cook, chicken curry. Can you tell I like chicken?”

Time to get ready! What are you wearing?

I’m such a girly girl so probably a cute black and gold dress with knee high boots – and lots of glitter!

Everyone’s arriving: what music are you playing to set the mood?

Kylie’s Tension (Deluxe) album to get the party started!

What are you and your guests chatting about at the table?

I’d love to chat about music of course! And how they each became successful, and where they see themselves in 10 years time!

Do you have a signature cocktail to serve?

Strawberry daiquiris all the way.

What about dessert? Sweet or a cheese board?

Definitely sweet! I’d have to have a few options to choose, including meringue, sticky toffee pudding, chocolate biscuit cake and biscoff ice cream.

What about entertainment?

We’d have Graham’s Red Chair interviews for sure! They are so funny!

How does the night wrap up? Is it a late one, or more chill?

A singsong with Billie Eilish would be my ultimate dream! Along with dance moves from Dua!
