Ed Sheeran Has Quit Twitter Because Of Cruel Comments From Trolls

He's been "trying to work out why people dislike me so much".

Ed Sheeran has revealed that he no longer logs in to his Twitter account because all of the cruel comments about him were bringing him down.

The 26-year-old singer recently headlined Glastonbury, one of the world’s biggest musical festivals, but the excitement of that was tarnished by people criticising his use of a loop pedal. The tool allows him to add different guitar melodies and vocal harmonies, which he then performs the song over.

Speaking to the Sun, the Galway Girl singer said, “I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it. I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things.

“Twitter’s a platform for that,” he added, “One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it. The head-f*ck for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”

Ed relies on his family and friends to keep him grounded and is trying to ignore online trolls. He said, “I have people like my dad who will have a conversation with me. I don’t have to have someone calling me a whatever.”

Ed’s Twitter page is still active, but he’ll no longer log into it. His Instagram account will automatically generate tweets on the site, but he won’t be using it himself.

Poor Ed.
