Ambika Mod stars as Emma Morley in the new Netflix series One Day, which we can’t get enough of.

But who is Ambika, and what else has she been in?

Here at team STELLAR we found ourselves wondering just that – so here is everything we found out about the actress who is currently gracing our screens!

Ambika is a 28 year old British actress, writer and comedian.

She grew up in a town called Potters Bar in Hertfordshire, England with her family.

Ambika has a younger sister named Priya, and their parents are Indian.

Her mother moved to the UK as a child and her father immigrated in his twenties.

Ambika actually studied English at college (St. Mary’s in Durham), but she took part in acting and sketch comedy, performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2015.

She then started her career as a personal assistant at Condé Nast, performing comedy at night.

In fact, this funny gal still does improv comedy at The Free Association in London!

And while she’d had her foot in the door for a while, it wasn’t until 2022 that she got her breakthrough role as Shruti Acharya in the BBC series This Is Going To Hurt.

The intense medical comedy drama was critically appraised, placing Ambika on the roster as an actress to be taken seriously.

That brings us up to now; with Ambika’s newest role as Emma Morley in One Day.

The miniseries landed on Netflix just last week on February 8th, and tells the story of two star crossed lovers, Emma Morley (Ambika) and Dexter Mayhew (Leo Woodall).

Based on David Nicholls’ 2009 novel of the same name, the series follows Emma and Dexter on the same day for over 20 years.

Ambika is definitely a rising star – we can’t wait to see what she does next!
