EYNTK About Taylor Swift’s Madison Square Garden Wedding

Yep, Madison Square Garden

Taylor Swift is getting married – did you know that?

Unless you’ve been somehow living beneath a rock for the past few years, you’re probably aware that Taylor is marrying her current partner Travis Kelce, in what is expected to be a majorly lavish affair.

So lavish, in fact, that it appears to be happening at Madison Square Garden. Yes, really.

According to reports, the 20,000 seating capacity venue will host the singer and American football player’s wedding, as street closure requests and event permits have already been requested.

So, here’s everything we do – and don’t – know about the wedding.

Where are Taylor and Travis getting married?

TMZ originally reported that Taylor and Travis had booked Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York City for a major event in the first weekend of July.

According to the BBC, a street closure permit has been requested near the arena during the 4 July weekend.

Several Kansas City Chiefs football players have also booked hotel rooms near the venue, further fuelling the rumours of a major wedding in MSG.

There are also reports that the building of a massive castle inside the venue are underway, as scenic pieces labeled ‘Garden Party 1 (Scenic)’ and spray-painted ‘GP’ have been spotted inside the venue.

But don’t worry, a whole 20,000 people haven’t been invite. Well, probably not.

CBS reports that a rehearsal dinner for about 100 people will take place at the arena’s Infosys Theatre, followed by a larger celebration in the main area on Friday night.

This party will reportedly accommodate up to 1,000 people.

When are the couple getting married?

This weekend, apparently!

All of the above planning, building, and permit requests have been taking place ahead of the Fourth of July weekend – very on brand, honestly.

It’s likely that the rehearsal dinner will take place on Thursday, July 2nd, and the main wedding event will happen on Friday, July 3rd, into the 4th.

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani has also said previously that the city was hosting a World Cup match on the same weekend as “Taylor Swift’s wedding” and said “we are used to big events” in New York.

Who’s on the invite list?

Obviously we don’t know for sure, but we can make some educated guesses.

On Taylor’s side, besties Selena Gomez, Jack Antonoff, Karlie Kloss, Blake Lively, Lena Dunham, and Emma Stone have most likely received an invite to the nuptials.

On Travis’ side, his brother Jason will of course be in attendance, while his fellow football players Aric Jones and Kumar Ferguson also probably received an invite.

Reports suggest that every wedding guest will have signed an NDA before the event, and will be expected to stay away from social media on the day.

What have Taylor and Travis said about the wedding?

Not a whole lot, actually.

While the pair were open enough about their engagement, they’ve been keeping their wedding day as under wraps as possible.

Last year, Swift told Heart Radio that, “I actually never thought about what I would ever do or what I would want [with a wedding] until I met the person,” before admitting that the guestlist was going to be massive.

She told The Graham Norton Show: “I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount [of guests] and people are on the bubble, right?

“Anyone that I’ve ever talked to [is invited]! I shouldn’t have said any of that.”

Standby, we guess!
