Taylor Swift may have written, “August slipped away like a moment in time.” But she certainly isn’t letting any time slip away as she has announced her 12th album.

Yep, you read that right. The Life of a Showgirl is coming and we couldn’t be more excited.

Eagle-eyed Swifties noticed that the Grammy winner was dropping hints about an upcoming release before her marketing team Taylor Nation shared 12 pictures of her, all in orange outfits to their social media accounts.

“Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…” they wrote, which was enough to send die hard fans into a tailspin.

And a correct tailspin as Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, then shared a teaser of a guest who would be appearing on his podcast, New Heights, that he co-hosts with his brother, Jason.

Late on Monday night, it was revealed that Taylor would be the special guest. And she had a very special announcement…a new album!

“So, I wanted to show you something,” she told Jason and viewers during the teaser clip, before holding up a blurred cover of her new album.

“This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”

Her 11th album The Tortured Poets Department, which came out in 2024, broke the Spotify record for being the most-streamed album in a day.

What is TS12 called?

Taylor revealed that her new album is called, The Life of a Showgirl.

Fans will know she has been teasing showgirl imagery for years now, in music videos like Bejewelled and I Can Do It With A Broken Heart. Clearly, this concept has been on Taylor’s mind for a long time.

When is her new album coming out?

We don’t have a release date yet.

However, fans who pre-ordered the album received a message which said it would ship before 13th October, but “this is not the release date”.

Do we have an album cover?

Not yet, but it looks like she will reveal this on the New Heights podcast which will release at 12am on Thursday morning.

So it’ll be a late night for Irish Swifties!

But we know the colour palette is orange and green.

What does it sound like?

We don’t have our first song yet. However, Taylor’s team shared a 22-track playlist that featured only songs produced by Max Martin and Shellback.

These producers worked with her on her beloved albums Red, 1989 and Reputation. These albums include mega hits like We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, I Knew You Were Trouble, Shake It Off, and Don’t Blame Me.

Keep your ears and eyes peeled for her teaser clips.

Will the album have any features?

Swifties are convinced that pint-sized pop princess, Sabrina Carpenter will have a feature on the song.

In the 12 picture slider Taylor Nation shared one of the pictures included Sabrina.

Earlier this month, Sabrina shared a picture with the caption, “Go put on some clothes!”

Taylor’s good pal, Gigi Hadid commented, “But daddy I have nothing to wear ! !”

It is also a callback to Taylor inviting Sabrina on stage during the Eras Tour saying: “Could you get off the rollercoaster you’re on and put on some clothes and just come down to the stadium really quick.”
