Fans Aren’t Loving The Look Of Sydney Sweeney’s New Rom Com

Sydney Sweeney has had a swift rise to stardom.

The actress has gone from a breakout role in Euphoria, to starring in hit show White Lotus, a Tarantino flick, and critically acclaimed biopic, Reality.

Now, Sydney’s trying her hand at a good old-school romantic comedy – but fans aren’t too excited after seeing the trailer.

The summary of the highly anticipated rom com Anyone But You is as follows:

“In the edgy comedy Anyone But You, Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell) look like the perfect couple, but after an amazing first date something happens that turns their fiery hot attraction ice cold — until they find themselves unexpectedly thrust together at a destination wedding in Australia. So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.”

Sounds good right? The thing is, the summary doesn’t explain why Bea and Ben have to pretend to be a couple…and the trailer doesn’t either. The lack of context has frustrated fans; and that’s not all that’s bothering them.

Citing a lack of chemistry, bad dialogue, inappropriate music and no humour, people flooded Twitter with disappointed reactions to the sneak peek of the film.

Finally saw the trailer for that Anyone But You movie. It was giving Fifty Shades with the song choice but Wattpad fanfic with the delivery.

The disappointed response to the video comes after Sydney and co-star Glen were the subject of affair rumours, thanks to a number of behind the scenes videos and pictures which showed them looking cosy.

The rumours were further fuelled when Glen’s then-girlfriend, Gigi Paris, reportedly broke things off with him during filming, according to People.

Speaking to Variety, Sydney – who is engaged to restaurateur Jonathon Davino – laughed off any speculation.

“That’s what people want! Glen and I don’t really care,” she said.

“We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker. We’re excited for the press tour.” 

So, there you have it folks.

They’re not seeing each other, which may explain the lack of chemistry in their upcoming film…Awks!
