Could we BE anymore ready?!

After what feels like a lifetime of waiting, we finally have confirmation of when the Friends reunion will begin filming.

David Schwimmer shared the news, announcing that production will begin in ‘a little over a month’.

The show, which will feature all of the original cast members, was initially set to begin filming in May 2020, however, with the rapidly changing nature of the coronavirus pandemic, the show was immediately postponed.

Chatting with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM about the reunion, reassuring fans that it is still happening David said:

“Oh, it’s happening. Actually, in a little over a month, I’m heading out to Los Angeles.”

Explaining how exactly it’ll go down, he continued:

“So, finally, I mean, we figured out a way to film it safely, and there’s going to be a portion of it that we film outside because of, you know, for safety protocols”

What can we expect from the reunion? Well, if you were hoping to see all of the actors reprise their beloved roles, we’re sorry to disappoint you, but that won’t be happening. Lisa Kudrow explained the set-up in a recent interview, hinting that the event will be more of a get-together rather than a scripted episode.

“It’s not a reboot. It’s not like a scripted thing, we’re not portraying our characters,” she told the Literally! With Rob Lowe podcast.

“It’s us getting together, which just doesn’t happen a lot and has never happened in front of other people since 2004 when we stopped.”

Friends ran for ten years from 1994 to 2004, with an estimated 51.1million people tuning in to see the final episode. So, it’s no surprise that fans are eagerly awaiting the cast’s reunion, but with a little luck, we won’t have too much longer to wait.
