In a heartwarming moment and out of respect for the late actress Naya Rivera, Heather Morris made sure to bring along a piece of Naya so she could be there with them in spirit.
Naya, who played Santana Lopez on the show, tragically drowned in July 2020 while swimming with her now seven-year-old son.
Heather took to her Instagram to share some photos from the day which included a photo of her wearing a custom t-shirt that read “Heather Morris is an actor”. She also held up a sign which quoted a line from Naya’s character on Glee. It read: “The only straight I am is straight-up broke.”
Heather’s character Brittany and Naya’s character Santana were initially portrayed as best friends but it transformed into a romantic relationship in the second season of the show.
Naya Rivera tragically died at the age of 33 while swimming with her son Josey at Lake Piru in California.
She reportedly jumped into the water after her son got into difficulty swimming. She was thankfully able to help him back onto the rental boat but was unable to make it back on board herself.
Josey, who was four at the time, was found on the boat alone that evening with no sign of Naya.
