‘Gurning’: Vicky Pattison Finally Speaks About THAT Shocking Xtra Factor Appearance
'It gets worse when I drink.'
Vicky Pattison found herself at the centre of some unwanted controversy last week after a video of her looking a little worse for wear on Xtra Factor went viral.
The Geordie Shore star appeared to be slurring her words on the live TV show, but it was her unusual jaw movements that raised eyebrows with most viewers. “@VickyPattison is gurning way to much tonight in #XFactor,” wrote one Twitter user. “Vicky Pattison gurning her way through the Xtra Factor,” commented another.
Now, Vicky herself has spoken out to set the record straight, saying her jaw movements were nothing to be concerned about.

“My jaw movement is something that I’ve always done. It gets worse when I drink,” she told OK!. The 28-year-old pointed out that her so-called “gurning” had sparked concern in the I’m A Celebrity… jungle too, despite the fact that she was living under the same no-alcohol rules as the other contestants. “I did it in the jungle and I got stick for it…. I didn’t drink once in the jungle, yet people were still questioning it,” she said.
During her Xtra Factor appearance, the reality star could be seen fixing her cleavage under her dress and and one point could be heard telling host Rylan Clark, “I’m worried about my boob.”
One source told The Sun that Vicky had arrived at the ITV studios “on the back of a 48-hour bender and had a few too many drinks in the green room to liven herself up backstage.”
It’s not the first time Vicky’s jaw movements have been the subject of some online speculation. Back in July, photos of her on a holiday in Mallorca and Spain led to similar discussions on Twitter.
As for Vicky, she’s been too busy enjoying the single life to get bogged down in criticism on social media. “I haven’t been a complete nun, but I haven’t met anyone who’s held my interest. It’d take a very specific man to be okay with me and my lifestyle,” she told OK! of her romantic life over the past year.
