Following on from the news that Halle Bailey has been cast as Ariel in the Little Mermaid remake, fans quickly moved on to the casting of Prince Eric.

Fans suggested a variety of heartthrobs for the live action film including Netflix star Noah Centineo, Grey’s Anatomy’s Alex Landi, and singers like Shawn Mendes and Chance The Rapper.

One of the most popular choices among fans however, was Harry Styles, and it turns out this Disney dream may very well come true for Directioners.

The singer, who starred in Dunkirk in 2017, is reportedly in early talks to play Ariel’s love interest.

There aren’t many more details about the possible casting of Harry, but with his ability to sing, his previous acting work and his huge fan base, we could definitely see it.

Harry would join Halle, as well as Room’s Jacob Tremblay who is set to play Flounder, Ocean’s 8’s Awkwafina who will play Scuttle, while Melissa McCarthy is rumoured to be playing Ursula.

Harry just recently missed out on another huge role as Elvis in Baz Lurman’s upcoming biopic. The part instead went to Austin Butler who recently starred in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and is also known for being Vanessa Hudgen’s BF.
