Here’s Why Blake Lively & Ryan Reynold’s Wedding Pictures Have Been Banned From Pinterest

The wedding pictures of Hollywood stars Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been banned from social picture site Pinterest – and for a very good reason!

The two stars tied the knot back in 2012, and have always remained VERY tight lipped about their big, with little to no pictures of the Gossip Girl’s dress appearing online.

However, we did get to a sneak peek inside the big event, with snaps emerging of the venue and decor after they said I Do.

Fab, right?

But the controversy over these wedding pictures is due to the fact that Blake and Ryan chose to have their big day at the Boone Hall Plantation, in Charleston South Carolina – a site known to have housed hundreds of African American slaves.

The decision to ban the pictures came following a statement made by civil rights group Color of Change.

“”Plantations are physical reminders of one of the most horrific human rights abuses the world has ever seen.” the group wrote in a letter to Pinterest and The Knots.

“The decision to glorify plantations as nostalgic sites of celebration is not an empowering one for the Black women and justice-minded people who use your site,”

“The wedding industry routinely denies the violent conditions Black people faced under chattel slavery by promoting plantations as romantic places to marry.”

We love this move by Pinterest!
