How Much?! Blue Ivy’s VMAs Dress Cost More Than Your Year’s Rent

When you’re the daughter of one of the world’s biggest superstars, it’s fair to say that you become accustomed to a certain amount of luxury. Forget half-off dresses from Dunnes and hand-me-downs from your older siblings, four-year-old Blue Ivy is more likely to be kitted out in couture than she is to be seen in a sparkly €3 top from Penneys.

That said, her latest bit of clobber had us seriously reevaluating our lives. Showing up to the MTV VMAs with mama bear Beyonce, Blue wore a cute-as-a-button princess style tutu dress, with a tiara.

The cost? The guna, designed by Mischka Aoki, checked out at $11,000. That’s right, a four-year-old’s party dress cost roughly the same amount you drop on rent every year.

Or to put it another way, while you’re in Tesco deciding whether or not to ‘splurge’ on the bargain bin biscuits, Blue is looking pouty on the red carpet in a dress that probably costs more than your entire wardrobe, shoes included.

Sigh. Blue Ivy is a princess and none of us are worthy.
