How To Give Your Instagram An A/W Glowup
Mad aura
What you post on Instagram and share on your Stories of course depends on how casual you want your page to be.
Whether your Instagram is private with a small following or public with a larger audience, if you’re looking for ways to improve your profile, we got you!
Here’s 5 ways that you can vamp up and improve your Instagram page…
1. Use cohesive cover images
Your choice of cover image determines the cohesiveness of your feed and is the most important thing to consider if you’re trying to channel a specific aesthetic or theme on your profile. It can of course be a challenge trying to build a cohesive feed, so you should revolve your cover images and the basis of their theme around the kinds of photos you tend to take.
Whether it be the lighting or colour scheme, your feed can be determined by whatever aesthetic feels most suited to you and what props up the most in your photos. For example, if you love to take photos when you’re out and about in nature, while you’re hiking or at the beach, a bright blue/green theme would work perfect with your feed and will be easy to stay consistent with as it’s suited to you.
Or if you tend to get most of your post-worthy photos on nights out, why not create a darker feed with a dimmed aesthetic. A cohesive feed is entirely up for interpretation, as it can be built any way you like. Once you master it, your feed will be exquisite!

2. Have good variety
When it comes to cover images, you should have a good variety of what can be seen on your page. Having a mix of solo photos, group pictures, scenic shots and ‘filler’ posts will guarantee a gorgeous layout. ‘Filler’ posts are the pictures whose only purpose is making your feed look coordinated.
It can be anything – a simple photo of some flowers in your room, a casual picture of your outfit of the day, an aesthetic photo of a coffee or cocktail or merely a photo of the sky. A filler picture is whatever you feel you can seamlessly slip into your feed without thought and can be a perfect way to easily shift into a new aesthetic on your feed.
3. Organise your highlights
Many people have no interest in actually posting on their feed and think that Instagram highlights are the way to go. Many view Instagram stories as much more casual and give it less thought when posting, so it is a common preference. If you tend to post stories but don’t know how you would put them together to create highlights, you can divide them into the simple categories of ‘photos of you’, ‘photos with friends’ and ‘scenic photos’ and then organise the specifics from there.
If you tend to upload countless photos of a pet, why not bunch them into a highlight? Or, if you went on a trip and have a stunning collection of photos, why not give them a dedicated space on your page? The same goes for everything. Your highlights are a safe and subtle spot to store your memories in a cohesive manner.

4 . Make vision boards and find inspiration
If you know that you want to have that aesthetic cohesive Instagram feed but don’t know how to achieve it with your photos – create a vision board on Pinterest on what you want your feed to look like and channel what kind of aesthetic you’re looking for while taking photos from then on out.
If you still don’t know what kind of vibe you’re looking for, find an Instagram page whether it’s a friend or influencer, whose feed catches your interest and take inspiration from their layout while adding your own personal twist.
5. Don’t overthink it!
Many people don’t post on Instagram because they overthink the photos they’re sharing. Your Instagram feed is a great way to express yourself and you should feel comfortable doing so.
Of course, posting isn’t for everyone, but if you want to post, don’t let your fear of judgement get in the way of sharing some fun memories!
