“I Feel A Bit Naive”: Kim Kardashian Apologises Over Jeffree Star Racism Row

She was criticised for passing off his racist comments so lightly.

Kim Kardashian has made a lengthy apology to fans after she defended racist comments made by make-up artist, Jeffree Star. She had said she would give him “the benefit of the doubt” and “accept that people change and move on”.

Fans immediately criticised her for saying, “Let him live. Let’s not be so negative,” and so the mum-of-two took to Snapchat to say sorry.

“Hey guys, so I really wanted to apologise to you guys for defending a situation yesterday that I really didn’t know enough about,” she began.

“I just feel a bit naive and I do wanna really apologise for me feeling like I had the right to say ‘Get over it’ in a situation that involves racism. I don’t have the right to speak on that.

“I really, really am sorry, and – from the bottom of my heart, I’ve always been about positivity. I’ve never been a negative person. My whole thing was ‘hey guys, I don’t want to see negativity in my timeline or my mentions, so let’s all move forward, be positive and move past this’. And I realise I was a bit naive in saying that.”

She added, “I do believe that people are born to love and born with love, and they’re taught to hate, so I have always had hopes that people can change and that people can learn to be better and find that love again.

“I believe in people changing and being better, and I will never give that up. I just want people to be positive.”
