Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have to be up there with our favourite celeb couples, despite not knowing a whole lot about them. They don’t share a lot of their private lives on social media, but there’s just something about them that seems so wholesome. Now, Eva has opened up about why she decided not to share this part of her life with her fans and followers.
Eva admitted that she was having trouble trying to decide what to post on Instagram given the global pandemic, so she shared a piece of art from one of her favourite artists, René Magritte. “During these times, I’m so confused about what to post so I’m going to post things that move me in hopes that they move you as well. Since I don’t post about my immediate family, and it feels so wrong to post about work, here you go,” she captioned the post.
When one follower commented asking why she doesn’t post about her husband Ryan Gosling or their children. Mendes replied, explaining why she likes to keep her home life private. “I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids,” she wrote.
“I’ll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life. And since my children are still so little and don’t understand what posting their image really means, I don’t have their consent. And I won’t post their image until they’re old enough to give me consent.” She continued: “As far as Ryan and I, it just works for us this way, to stay private.”
“I don’t mind explaining myself sometimes. I care about people and their questions,” she responded to another comment. “So I’m happy to answer honestly. But thanks for saying thanks. Sending you lots of love out there.”
Of course, no one has to post every little detail about their lives, but it’s almost refreshing to see celebs keep some things private. Love that for them.
