‘I Matched With Someone!’ Demi Lovato Opens Up About Her Sexuality, Online Dating And First Dates

"Whether that’s through a male or female, it doesn’t matter to me…"

Demi Lovato has been mostly single since splitting from her longterm boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama, last year. They shared a six year relationship, and while still good friends, they both felt it was time to go their separate ways.

Since then, she’s started using the celebrity-only dating app, Raya. In her new documentary Simply Complicated, the singer tells her friends, “I matched with someone on Raya just now!”

Then in a face to camera interview, she says, “I am on a dating app with both men and girls. I am open to human connection so whether that’s through a male or female, it doesn’t matter to me…

She then reveals her excitement around first dates and meeting people for the first time. “First dates… oh my God. First dates are so nerve wrecking, I didn’t have that before. I mean, not in so long. And the butterflies of that, the sweat on my hands, the f*cking sweaty palms. Like all that is fun! It’s so much fun.”

She goes on to describe what she looks for in a romantic partner and adds, “There is something sexy about someone putting in all of their physical strength into their passion… I do like athletes.”

The 25-year-old later admits that she’s happy to have casual sex. “There’s a certain stigma around women having casual sex and for me, I feel it’s my body, it’s my choice. It’s exciting. It’s a connection with somebody and it’s fun,” she said.

“When I’m comfortable in my own skin, I feel confident and when I feel confident, I feel sexy and when I feel sexy, watch out.” Watch her full documentary below:
