In Case You were Wondering, Love Island’s Liberty And Jake Aren’t On Speaking Terms

It seems like a lifetime ago since we were tuning into Love Island nightly at 9 pm – but in reality, it’s been just over a month since Liberty and Jake decided to leave the Love Island villa days before the final.

The couple who were together since day one quickly made their relationship official before things took a wrong turn and they subsequently decided to call it a day on both their relationship and their time in the villa.

And it may not surprise you to now hear that Liberty and Jake aren’t in contact with each other since the finale aired.

Since the finale, Jake has been missing from post villa gatherings, including the reunion show. At the time, host Laura Whitmore explained, “So, sadly Jake can’t be with us this evening as he isn’t feeling very well.”

Now, Liberty is discussing her thoughts on Jake now, including his absence at the reunion. Speaking to The Mirror, she shared, “I do think he was genuinely ill for the reunion. I don’t keep in contact with him every day anymore, obviously, we’re exes.”

Continuing, Liberty went on to say that while they’re friends they don’t actually keep in contact. “We’re friends, no bad blood. Hopefully, he’s alright but I’m not too sure.”

Revealing if she’s ready for another relationship or not, Liberty shared that she’d rather focus on herself right now. “Not at the moment, at the moment I’m just focusing on myself. We’ll see what happens in the future.

“When I find someone that I gel with in that way I’ll consider it but at the moment it’s not my main focus.” Honestly, good for her!

Previously, Liberty revealed to The Sun why she thinks things didn’t work out with her and Jake. “I do actually think his feelings were genuine. I think that the connection was genuine, but things went sour. But I do think he genuinely liked me. But I just was questioning whether obviously he loved me the way I loved him.”

Meanwhile, Jake has since hit out at criticism he has received over his split from Liberty, saying, “If people knew what was said that wasn’t aired, I think people would believe differently.” Read more on that here.
