Are you wondering why you woke up today to much wailing and crying and rending of garments?

Well, it’s because Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are divorcing after nine years of marriage. (That was a very painful sentence to write.)

The pair started dating in 2006 after meeting on the set of their film Step Up, and married in 2009 – they have a five-year-old daughter, Everly.

In a joint statement posted on Twitter, Channing and Jenna said that there are no “secrets nor salacious events” at the root of the decision:

We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. We are still a family and will always be loving, dedicated parents to Everly.

Awww man. We always thought these two would go all the way.

Anna Daly of TV3 has praised an Aer Lingus crew member for comforting her baby during a flight.

The Weekend AM presenter was coming back from a holiday in Portugal with her family when her three-year-old Rhys got a little fussy, but a kindly member of the cabin crew knew just what to do to calm him down. Anna wrote on Instagram:

Always feel it’s important to recognise excellent customer service and Aer Lingus fly high in that department. Thank you to the lovely cabin crew especially this girl, Leah. Holding and comforting baby Rhys and easing my fear of upsetting an entire plane with a screaming baby.
