Irish Artists Jazzy & CMAT Nominated For First BRIT Awards

Now two Irish artists have been nominated for BRIT Awards.
Jazzy and CMAT have both been nominated for their first-ever BRIT Awards. Incredible news.

Jazzy, whose real name is Yasmine Byrne, is nominated in the International Song of the Year category for her hit song Giving Me.
Sharing the good news, she wrote: “It’s hard to believe I’m writing this ..Giving Me has been nominated for International Song of the Year at the @brits !
“Can’t explain how I’m feeling right now from reaching number one on the Irish charts to hitting 100 million streams worldwide and witnessing the incredible love and support from all of yous makes me so proud couldn’t have done it without my brothers who gave me a platform and put me on the map @belters_only we goin the brits !!!”
She is going up against the likes of Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus and Olivia Rodrigo. There are 15 songs over all in this category.

CMAT, whose real name is Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, has also been nominated for International Artist of the Year at the 2024 BRITs.
She is nominated in the same category as Asake, Burna Boy, Caroline Polachek, Kylie Minogue, Lana Del Rey, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, and Taylor Swift.
She wrote on social media: “i would like to personally thank God and Kylie Minogue for this nomination (same thing)”.
The singer also shared a video of her celebrating her nomination along with the caption: “i, like my contemporary Kylie Minogue, am nominated for the @BRITs for international artist of the year . if you dont know who i am thats ok i dont either!!! welcome !!! #BRITs”
