We all remember the hysteria after the release of Normal People when Paul Mescal brought GAA shorts to the forefront of fashion leading Gucci to even manufacture their own pair. It. Was. Madness.

It looks like the trend isn’t over as Paul sported his own pair of Kildare GAA shorts to Coachella this weekend while supporting his girlfriend Phoebe Bridgers, and fans are losing their minds.

We all know Coachella is where the festival and streetwear fashion trends for the summer begin, and this year it has been all about comfort, with Hailey Bieber, Kylie Jenner and Emma Chamberlain leading the way with comfort first on weekend one, weekend two kept the same tempo with many stars.

Paul’s comfort, of course came in a pair of GAA shorts like any former county player. He was spotted with his Normal People co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones, who wore another comfortable but effortlessly cool outfit of a cream top and maxi skirt co-ord complete with a white shirt around her waist, making festival attire elegant we expected no less.

We are predicting GAA shorts for both women and men to be a festival staple this year, paired with a cute crop-top and air force with an overshirt? You can’t go wrong. Maybe this was always your aesthetic but we see a whole lot more of it this year, beg, borrow and steal some GAA shorts if you’ve none of your own, we are loving the excuse to be ultra-comfortable during festival season.

Paul’s girlfriend Phoebe Bridgers put on a show at weekend two of the festival, giving fans what they love to see, a cutie couple moment! Phoebe brought Paul onstage during her set and fans snapped some pics of the actor looking pure delighted with life.
