Jamie Lynn Spears isn’t staying silent anymore in regards to all the talk surrounding her sister, Britney Spears.

In light of the “#FreeBritney” movement and discussions surrounding the popstar’s mental health, Jamie Lynn Spears spoke out on Instagram after a follower asked her why she wasn’t speaking about her sister’s “obvious mental illness”.

As captured by Comments By Celebs, Jamie Lynn retaliated by saying that the user had “no right” to assume anything about her sister.

“You have no right to assume anything about my sister, and I have NO right to speak about HER health and personal matters. She is a strong, badass, unstoppable woman, and that’s the only thing that is OBVIOUS,” explained Jamie Lynn.

In another comment, the 29-year-old added that she wouldn’t be “clarifying” anything for the public’s sake, then continued to say that Britney doesn’t want her family speaking out.

“I’d rather take all the hate, then speak about someone else’s personal matter,” she concluded.

This all came after Jamie Lynn shared an Instagram post of a tweet from Halsey.

Explaining that we need to have respect when speaking about mental illness, Jamie Lynn shared the post which Halsey originally wrote in regards to Kanye West and his presidential run.

“If you deal with mental illness or care for someone dealing with mental illness, then you know how important it is to respect the situation with privacy for the person, and the family trying to protect their loved ones, no matter how it may appear to the public, and as the public we must learn to do the same,” Jamie Lynn captioned the post.
