Katy Perry Reveals That Orlando Bloom Was On A Six Month Sex Ban When They Started Dating
"We were both on a different journey."
Katy Perry has revealed that when she and Orlando Bloom started dating he was on a six month sex ban.
In her recent interview with Style magazine she shared that he was six months into a self-imposed sex ban when they first met. “I had no idea that was the case. I met him in 2016, we were both on a different journey.”
Katy, who is expecting her first child with Orlando (it will be the second for the British actor) also spoke about how close they are as a couple sharing that “he’s very sensitive. Very emotionally involved. He gets up at 7am and chants for an hour.”
She also went on to say that their shared interests are also what make them so close, and in classic Katy fashion it’s all a bit kooky; “We love mysticism, conspiracies, aliens, all that stuff. We love and adventure of the mind. That’s definitely something we are bound by.”

During the interview Katy’s mental health was also a topic for discussion, as the star publicly went through a breakdown in 2017. Soon after the release of her Witness album she shared that “I got very clinically depressed […] but it hit me hard this time. I had always been able to skirt the issue.”
“Any time I suffered from bouts of depression I would easily be able to run to the validation of the outside world by writing a song, doing a music video, getting likes and comments.”

This was also the year the she and Orlando split up for a short time, Katy spoke about this too; “You are never going to change someone as much as you want to change them.”
“They have no choice but to change themselves, and I had to make the choice, after hitting rock bottom. I had no choice but to go on this emotional, spiritual, psychological journey or I probably wouldn’t live to see 2018.”
She went on to say that “Unconditional love saved me.”
