Kelly Clarkson Has Filed for Divorce From Her Husband, Brandon Blackstock

After seven years of marriage, which is basically a lifetime in Hollywood, Kelly Clarkson has filed to divorce her husband, Brandon Blackstock. According to US Weekly, Kelly filed the papers to end their marriage last week in Los Angeles.

Kelly and Brandon met for the first time back in 2006, at the American Country Music Awards, where Kelly was rehearsing a song with Rascal Flatts and his band. Who happened to be their manager at the time? Well, Kelly’s future husband of course. After another few years, the pair met again and after just ten months of dating, Brandon popped the question and they tied the knot the following year.

Back in 2017, Kelly told People how her relationship with Brandon was basically a sexual awakening for her, “I never felt like, honesty, sexually attracted to anybody before him”.

She continued, “and I’m not downing my exes. You know, everybody’s different. But there was something about him…I honestly thought I was asexual—I’d never been turned on like that in my whole life.”

Kelly and Brandon have two children together, River Rose Blackstock and Remington Alexander Blackstock, and at the moment it’s unclear what the custody agreement will look like for them.

Neither Kelly or Brandon have publicly commented on their divorce.
