Kinky! Apparently Zayn Left One Direction Because He Was Dying To Write About Sex

Explains a lot, TBH.

Last March a million hearts broke in unison as Zayn Malik announced that he’d be leaving One Direction and crushing everyone’s dreams in the process.

Then in January, Zayn released his debut single Pillowtalk, which took a decidedly different direction to the squeaky clean music he’d made during his 1D days, with a sexy video and equally sexy lyrics.

Now, in an excerpt in his new book, Zayn has hinted at the reason he left the band, and, as it turns out, sex played a big part in it.

“Every lyric I’ve ever written has a story behind it. All the hard work that went into the creation of Pillowtalk was worthwhile because, as soon as it was finished, I intuitively felt I was on the right path,” Zayn reveals.

“It was a sick cut, nailing the exact sound I wanted to capture in my music. I was also able to sing about a subject that I hadn’t really been able to go near while I was in One Direction: sex.”

Zayn’s new book is set for release in November, which coincidentally is also when Little Mix are said to be releasing their new single Shout Out To My Ex.

Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards

The song features some very risqué lyrics sung by Zayn’s ex Perrie Edwards, including the line “Hope she ain’t fakin’ it like I did,” which many fans believe is directed at the former 1D star and his new girlfriend Gigi Hadid.

With both exes now penning lyrics about sex, things could be set to get very, very awkward.
