A Laguna Beach Reunion Has Reunited Lauren Conrad And Kristin Cavallari

A throwback to the iconic early days of reality TV.

Fans of Laguna Beach rejoice as the cast has reunited this week via Zoom. We’re loving all these virtual reunions at the moment, as we have already seen one from the cast of Mean Girls, as well as Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston for a table reading.

If you’re in need of a catch-up, Laguna Beach  aired from 2004 – 2006 and resulted in the spin off, hit reality TV show, The Hills. It followed the lives of eight teenagers through all of life’s drama as they attended Laguna Beach High School, and there was a lot.

This was the era of MTV and the early days of reality TV, an iconic time we think you’ll agree.

A massive 14 years after the program’s finale the cast reunited virtually including Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari who were formerly rivals on the show.

The former co-stars chatted for about 30 minutes, reflecting on their memories of the show.

Christina Sinclair said; “That was the coolest part of our experience — reality TV was not really a thing before Laguna Beach.”

“In retrospect, we all would have been very different had we been exposed to reality TV the way we have now. In a way, I feel like that’s what made Laguna Beach so iconic. We really went in with no expectations, having no idea what we were doing.”

Like all reality TV, we all know that some of it is staged and both Cavallari and Trey Phillips admitted that sometimes this could be confusing.

“It’s crazy because I remember watching it when it first came out and every time you’re like, “That’s not exactly how it was. They changed this.”‘

So, have any of the cast ever rewatched the show? It seems not one of them has been able to, presumably because none of us would ever want to relive our teenage years.

Cavallari shared; “I’ve seen minutes of it, but I’ve never re-watched the whole thing.”

Now all we need is The Simple Life reunion and our lives will be complete.
