After previously cancelling three weeks of shows in the run-up to the festival to recover from his “full-on” few months of touring, Lewis Capaldi headlined Glastonbury this weekend.

The Scottish star recently opened up about his battles with anxiety and Tourette’s syndrome.

While performing on the Pyramid stage he apologised to the crowd as he approached the lead up to his hit song Someone You Loved to end his set.

“I’m going to be honest everybody, but I’m starting to lose my voice up here, but we’re going to keep going and we’re going to go until the end.

“I just need you all to sing with me as loud as you can if that’s OK?”

He continued to apologise to the crowd for his voice starting to go, only for fans to reply with chants of “Oh, Lewis Capaldi”.

While he may have struggled to hit the notes the crowds did not miss a beat as they took over.

Videos have been surfacing showing a very emotional Lewis as he watched on as his fans sang back his hit single to him word for word.

As his show came to an end he informed his fans that he may be taking some time off.

“I feel like I’ll be taking another wee break over the next couple of weeks.

“So you probably won’t see much of me for the rest of the year… But when I do come back and when I do see you, I hope you’re still up for watching us.”

In an Instagram post he explained that he had not been home since Christmas.

The singer recently admitted on an Apple Music show that his mental health issues were a “direct symptom” of his work.

While he may be taking some time off, we love that Lewis knows he can always count on his fans to be there for him.
