Lily Collins Got The Age Of Her Emily In Paris Character Totally Wrong
This is news we needed to hear.
Although we see many details of Emily’s life play out throughout the season, one thing that’s not revealed is Emily’s age – either in the series or by creator Darren Star.
Considering Emily seems to have a pretty successful job, a boyfriend in Chicago who she’s planning to ‘marry’, plus a divine, well sought after wardrobe, we couldn’t help wonder what age this gal is actually meant to be.
Going by all the above totted up, the move to Paris to work in marketing, leading client accounts, and just having an all round gorge life, we would have estimated Emily to be about 28 at the least, but then, this revelation came out last week which had fans of the show in uproar.
In with Vogue, Lily Collins who plays the star of the show, weighed in on what age she thought Emily was.
“I don’t believe we’ve ever given her a specific ‘number’ for her age, but I believe that she’s pretty fresh out of college. Maybe this is her first year after graduation. I want to say she’s like, 22-ish.”
Yep, “fresh out of college”? Which obviously, lead to a lot of public opinions.
You have to love Twitter at times.
Me seeing Lily Collins say Emily has Master’s & so much PR/marketing experience she gets paid to live in Paris to run social strategy… at 22. #EmilyinParis pic.twitter.com/ThmqBsKmgu

French cliches aside the greatest sin of Emily in Paris is pretending a 22-year-old can just post whatever *~content~* she wants on a global brand’s account without going though 67 layers of approval first lmaoooo

I know there’s a lot of controversial things going on right now but Emily in Emily in Paris is supposed to only be 22?! Come on now.

Emily in Paris has to be at least 27-28 for me to be less miserable about watching the next season. I also thought Gabriel was at LEAST 30 and I just don’t see him shacking up with a 22 year old. (I’m basically talking to myself right now, I know)

But now, to say it as the French would, it looks like Lily has made a “grave erreur” and actually got the age of her Emily In Paris character wrong. Yikes.
Sharing the faux pas, Lily tweeted that she has made a mistake and Emily in thankfully, NOT 22.
Emily looking at me when I get her age wrong 😂 Sorry girl. You might not be 22, but I gotta say – you do act like it sometimes!! pic.twitter.com/PqX4yWmQvK

So, what age is she then you might ask? Well, Lily didn’t want to put her foot in it a second time, so she didn’t say, but we’re going to say a solid 28.
Does that suit y’all? I know it’s a still a bit ambitious, but sure look, it’s TV at the end of the day and Emily In Paris is by the SATC cast, so it’s no surprise there!
