Love Island Receives Nearly 500 Complaints In One Week

STELLAR PROMOTION: Uh-oh..

Love Island is once again receiving complaints – and for once, it’s actually not to do with Casa Amor.

UK broadcast regulator Ofcom reports that the series received 475 complaints over the span of a few days – 210 complaints on June 26, 185 on June 27, and 80 more on June 28.

Ofcom said: “Complaints about all three episodes related to Jess’ behaviour towards Harriett.”

Jess and Harriett continued to butt heads throughout the series, but it was the comments made during a game of Never Have I Ever that frustrated viewers.

Harriett called Ciaran two-faced, which led to him retorting with: “At least I haven’t been second choice for like three times though.”

Harriett, visibly upset, left the fire pit, while Jess laughed and said: “Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it.”

She then continued to repeat variations of the above throughout the night while Harriett cried.

It is unclear whether any of the complaints regarded Ciaran’s original comment.

Following Harriett’s dumping alongside Ronnie, she said that although she and Jess will never be friends, she wishes her the best.

She said: “The comments that she was making that I’ve seen now, I had no idea about, and maybe I would’ve taken a different approach if I knew what she was saying behind my back.

“But at the end of the day, I did have to put my foot down at one point because it was just getting too much. But I do wish her all the best, there’s no bad blood.”

Love Island continues tonight on Virgin Media 2 at 9pm.
