Love Island 2020 star Demi Jones revealed the tough news last week that she has thyroid cancer.

Sharing the news on her Instagram story last Thursday, Demi explained that she was due to go in for more surgery to remove the rest of her thyroid.

“The tumour has been removed but I’m now due to have more surgery to remove the rest of my thyroid. I’m staying very positive and I’m a strong girl, so I’ll be fine. Thank you for your love and support always. I’ll bounce back stronger,” she told her fans.

Rallying around the 22-year-old to give her support, Demi’s Love Island pals have given her some words of encouragement.

Taking to her own Instagram page, Shaughna Phillips shared a clip of her time in the villa with Demi, captioning the video she said:

“My sweet, gentle, beautiful girl, the same message I was giving you in the video applies today more than ever,” Shaughna began.

“Game face on my girl, you’ve got this. I love you soooo much! And I am SO lucky to have you in my life”

Demi’s other Island co-stars took to the comments section to share their support too, with both Leanne Manning and Sophie Piper leaving emojis underneath.

Seeing the support and letting the girls know what it means to her, Demi said:

“I’m literally crying. I love you so much, so grateful to have you in my life.”
