Former Love Island contestant Demi Jones has announced that she has thyroid cancer, following the results from an operation.
Admitting that she’s already had a tumour removed from her neck, Demi urged fans to be vigilant when it comes to their health and always look out for warning signs.
“Hey guys, I got my results today and unfortunately I have Thyroid Cancer.
‘The tumour has been removed but I’m now due to have more surgery to remove the rest of my thyroid. I’m staying very positive and I’m a strong girl, so I’ll be fine. Thank you for your love and support always. I’ll bounce back stronger,” the 22-year-old captioned her upsetting announcement online.
Just a few weeks back, a tearful Demi took to her Instagram platform admitting that she was fearful that cancer was what she was dealing with after she found a lump on her neck in April and went to have it looked at.
Receiving results from the doctor that noted it could be thyroid cancer, the news broke Demi who could be seen crying while speaking to the camera in her car.
“It’s a shock because you don’t think… I was there in this waiting room and it was full of old people and I was the only young one there. I thought I was so young, for God’s sake,” the star continued in another story.

We send Demi love and hugs during this time.
