Just to get it out there, it’s not okay to comment on someone’s body, particularly publicly and online, whether they’re ‘in the spotlight’ or not. That’s just that. The latest celeb to be in the firing line from trolls commenting on body image? Love Island’s Amy Hart.

Amy shared a before and after pic of herself on Instagram, where the after shot was taken following a seven-day visit to a juice retreat in Portugal. She explained that weight loss wasn’t the end goal of the retreat, but to ‘overcome social anxiety.’

She looked great in the before pic, and great in the after pic, but that didn’t stop people from commenting underneath that she looked ‘sickly’ and ‘ill’. So, Amy decided to have her say, and hit back at the trolls. “Some of the comments on my post about what a disgrace I am for sharing the day one and day seven pics…” she wrote on Instagram.

Continued, Amy wrote, “I went on holiday to a health retreat and have had thousands of messages with questions and encouragement, asking to follow my journey. It’s not a dramatic weight loss, it’s not like I’ve lost 2 stone in 7 days or something ridiculous like that.

“I’m not telling people to go and take weight loss shots or live on 3 cuppa-soups a day. It’s a one week reset. As you’ll see in the caption, the actual juicing aspect was very far down the list for me and the weight loss ever further down.”

Before adding, “My skin is glowing, I’m less bloated, I toned up through lots of fun and exercise classes with friends. I had the best time out there so wanted to share.”

Amy then shared a throwback image a while later, thanking her followers for the kind messages she received since. “Thank you thank you thank you for the hundreds of messages over the last 24 hours. Fundamentally I’m just trying to live a normal life but with an abnormal job (which I love) and use my voice and platform to help others. All your messages mean so much to me.”

She continued, “Love the Instafam. I do however ask you to go and watch Mimi on a mission just to put the whole ‘you signed up for abuse’ arguement to bed. If I can convince one person to stop trolling it could literally save a life. Love you all xx”

This comes just after Maura Higgins has revealed that she was hit by a very upsetting message in the past couple of days, whereby a follower DM’d her with some harsh words. The unprovoked message read, “You are actually very ugly! Not only from outside but on inside”.

Continuing, they added: “When you meet people show some gratitude. Only because of people like you are where you are. Without us you would be non existent.” Read more on that right here.
