Love Island’s Jack Fowler, who appeared on the 2018 season of the reality tv show, has revealed he was left unable to walk for weeks after suffering from a rare neurological condition earlier this year.

The Sun has reported that in an interview with the Oxford Union, Jack opened up about the rare illness, saying that everything you see on Instagram isn’t always true to real life. “Instagram, social media is absolutely fake. At the start of this year – no one knows this – I had something called transverse myelitis. I lost all movement in my legs and my left arm, paralysed, I was in a wheelchair for two or three weeks,” he shared.

He revealed that if you were to scroll through his Instagram, the photos told a completely different story to what he was going through in his everyday life, “on my Instagram I was having a wicked time, I was having a great time.”

Jack then continued, “I was in Dubai, I was in Thailand for all of the two weeks because that’s the ‘gram making it look like that. But realistically, I wasn’t – I was going through the hardest time of my life.”

Well, there you have it, yet another reason to remember that people usually put the best parts of themselves and their lives on Instagram.
