Molly-Mae Hague has revealed some of the business aspects to her job in a new YouTube video and sit-down chat with her manager and agent, Francesca Briton.
Answering burning questions from fans and speaking about what goes on behind the scenes before an Instagram photo goes live or a collaboration is signed and sealed, the pair spoke about how they’ve grown Molly-Mae’s brand, what’s next for the star and why it’s always important to make sure they keep true to her beliefs and likes, even when brands are slinging money at them.
Speaking about when the 22-year-old came out of Love Island in the summer of 2019, Fran, who was already appointed her agent by her family, explained that Molly-Mae was inundated with fast fashion brands fighting for her to become the face of their brand, explaining that they had to narrow the pick down to 10 brands for the star to choose from. Ultimately going for PrettyLittleThing and choosing a deal that wasn’t even the highest paying, the star wanted to pick the brand she liked the most and so, chose PLT and now, two years later still works with them.
‘The things they were offering was never going to feel real, there were brands offering cars, money I could never even dream of earning, that for me was like a pinnacle moment because I was like ‘is this what life’s going to be like?'” Molly-Mae explained.
Continuing on in the video, the star went on to admit that she also turned down a very big deal that surprised her manager.
Explaining that the popular brand in question wanted to offer Molly-Mae a massive contract worth £2 million to be the face of their brand, Molly-Mae refused because she never bought the brand herself and didn’t like wearing their products.
“No I don’t go and buy my clothes from there, and I said ‘well you can start?'” revealed Fran.
Continuing, she laughed and praised Molly-Mae for always staying true to herself.
“That’s another incredible thing about you, and I think other influencers aren’t this way and this is one of your best qualities, that if you see ‘AD’ on Molly’s posts, you know she genuinely uses, wears and believes in that brand,” Fran continued.
