New Grammy’s Date And Venue Announced For 2022

Save the date and have the popcorn ready!

This year even the Grammys were affected by the new Omicron variant of Covid 19 (sigh).

The Award’s show was originally due to be aired on the 31st of January, but it now will be held in MGM’s Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas on the 3rd of April.

2022 will mark the 64th year of the awards, and also the first year for the show to be held outside of L.A or New York since 1973. Following on from last year, the Grammys will be led by Trevor Noah, host of ‘The Daily Show’ on Comedy Central.

Among those nominated for awards are Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, Doja Cat and Billie Eilish.

At the top of the leaderboard is soulful R&B singer Jon Batiste, with 11 nominations – much to his delight, as Batiste celebrated with a tweet that told us his birthday is 11/11.

Up for record of the year are songs like Rodrigo’s ‘drivers license’ and Justin Bieber’s ‘Peaches’, while album of the year sees Taylor Swift with ‘Evermore’, and Kanye West’s ‘Donda’.

The Grammys will be broadcast on the 3rd of April from 8-11.30pm. Just another excuse to mark out a night for staying in and getting cosy!
