PSA: Caroline Flack Quits Love Island

She's "absolutely devastated".

If you haven’t been keeping up to date, last week, Caroline Flack was arrested after an argument with her boyfriend Lewis Burton. Lewis then came out to defend Caroline. And now, the news has broke that Caroline will no longer be hosting Love Island.

Caroline has presented all fives seasons of Love Island since the reboot, and was set to present the first winter version in January 2020. Caroline took to her Instagram Stories to break the news, “Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it’s the best show on telly. In order to not detract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down for series six.”

She also thanked her fans, and gave a mention to her boyfriend, Lewis. “And on a really personal level. I have never experienced such kindness and love in my whole life. Not just from friends and family who are always the greatest,’ she said. ‘But also from total strangers who send messages to me offering to help and understanding… ‘Please know that I see them… And my boyfriend Lewis… I love you x.”

Although Caroline usually only appears on Love Island when it’s time to vote a couple off, or for a big twist, it’s not clear yet whether she’ll return for the next season.

In a statement, an ITV spokesperson said: “ITV has a long-standing relationship with Caroline and we understand and accept her decision. We will remain in contact with her over the coming months about future series of Love Island.”
