Rapper Tory Lanez Has Been Charged With The Apparent Shooting Of Megan Thee Stallion

He could face a maximum of 22 years imprisonment

Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has been charged with the apparent shooting of fellow musician Megan Thee Stallion earlier this year.

In July of this year, Megan revealed that she was shot 3 times. Rushed to hospital by police officers, Megan received surgery for her injuries, thankfully making a full recovery. Sharing the news on her Instagram she wrote:

“The narrative that is being reported about Sunday’s morning events is inaccurate and I’d like to set the record straight. On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me.”

“I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets. I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night.”

Since then, more details from the night have emerged, with it being reported that Tory shot Megan in the feet during an argument when she got out of an SUV in the Hollywood Hills on the way home from a party at Kylie Jenner’s house.

It’s believed that on the night Tory was charged for carrying a concealed weapon but was not yet accused of the actual shooting.

An arraignment for Tory is scheduled for the 13th of October, where he will face two felony charges. If convicted, he will face a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in prison CNN has reported.

Since the incident, Tory released a self-titled project named ‘Daystar’ in which he states that he has been framed for the shooting.
