Reese Witherspoon Tears Up As Legally Blonde Cast Reunite For First Time In 20 Years

Reese Witherspoon and cast of Legally Blonde joined forces on Tuesday for a very emotional reunion.

All meeting together via Zoom for the first time in 20 years, the cast reminisced on the franchise series and how it has cemented its place in movie history.

Getting teary eyed to see all the cast together two decades later, Reese said:

“I can’t tell you what it means to me to see your faces. This was my college. You guys, this is where I went to college. I didn’t finish college, but I finished Legally Blonde and we all got together and made this movie together that has inspired so many young people and it’s just such a gift.”

Joining Witherspoon for the reunion on her YouTube page, was was familiar faces Selma Blair (Vivian Kensington), Luke Wilson (Emmett Richmond), Jennifer Coolidge (Paulette Bonafonté), Ali Larter (Brooke Taylor Windham), Matthew Davis (Warner Huntington III), Holland Taylor (Professor Stromwell), Alanna Ubach (Serena McGuire) and Jessica Cauffiel (Margot).

Speaking about how significant the role was for her to take on at the age of 23, Reese explained that she’s forever asked about the famous Elle Woods, “I think she just inspired people to believe in themselves. She just has a true sense of herself and she always wants to see the best in others.”

Continuing, Reese praised Elle for helping her to have a positive outlook on life, saying: “She’s inspired me to really keep an open mind and always be an advocate for myself and for other people in this world and I think her spirit is something that we could all use a little bit more of right now.”

This whole reunion also comes after the exciting announcement that Reese will reprise her role as Elle for Legally Blonde 3 which is currently being produced with Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor at the helm.

The film’s script has apparently been two years in the making and now, it looks like earlier this year it was all systems go to get this movie on track.

“I think it’s going to be a great movie for Reese and people are going to love to see her in this part,” explained The Office star when speaking on Good Morning America.

Although we don’t have many details on what’s to come yet, we’re expected to see Elle Woods in her 40s, giving us a well needed update on what she has been at these past two decades. Legally Blonde 3 is set for a May 2022 release.

We cannot wait.
