Finally! Russell Brand Confirmed He’s Going To Be A Dad Just Now With A Very Cute Instagram Post

Congrats are in order for Russell Brand today, who’s revealed some pretty life-altering news: he’s about to become a dad for the first time.

The comedian and political activist, who ended his marriage to Katy Perry back in 2011, is currently dating former lifestyle blogger Laura Gallacher. Rumours of the couple’s pregnancy have been brewing for the last couple of months.

Russell kept things simple with the announcement on Instagram today, letting his picture do all the talking.

“Right then. My Mum bought me this. Time to get ready!” he wrote, alongside a snap of him looking wide-eyed with a copy of The Expectant Dad’s Handbook.

Russell and Laura stared dating again last year, having previously stepped out together back in 2007, long before Katy Perry was on the scene.

Russell’s been making noises about wanting to live a more normal life out of the spotlight in recent years – indeed, in a documentary last year he slammed his ex-wife Katy for her “vapid, vacuous celebrity” lifestyle, and called the whole idea of fame “bullsh*t.”

Sounds like Russell’s ready for a new – and quieter – chapter in his life.
