Saoirse Ronan And Andrew Scott Have Been Nominated For Golden Globes
The Irish are representin’
The Golden Globes nominations have been announced, and well, it appears that the Irish are indeed representin’ this year, with both Saoirse Ronan and Andrew Scott up for awards.
Saoirse has been nominated for the awards ceremony 3 times prior to this nomination, with her bagging the award for best actress in 2018 for her performance in Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird.
It seems that Greta may just be Saoirse’s lucky charm, because this year she is up again for best actress, this time for Greta’s adaptation of Little Women, which will hit cinemas later this month.

Also up for nomination this year is everyone’s favourite sexy priest, Andrew Scott.
Making this his first nomination, he is up for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the television series Fleabag, and if you watched the show yourself you will probably see why he is nominated.
It seems that Saoirse and Andrew are in pretty good company, with the likes of Al Pacino, Margot Robbie, and Joaquin Phoenix all up for nomination too.
We’re assuming it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise to learn that Joaquin Phoenix is up for nomination for his role in Joker, seeing as it was the film that had us all talking this year. While Once Upon A Time in Hollywood seems to be in line to clear up at this year’s awards, with Quentin Tarantino, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt all up for nominations for the flick.

Taylor Swift has also been nominated for Best Original Song in her upcoming film Cats, while both Al Pacino and Joe Pesci are set to battle it out for Best Actor In A Supporting Role In The Irishman.
So, if you’re a film/tv buff then you might want to stick Sunday the 5th of January in your diary. The award ceremony will air at 1am Irish time, with Ricky Gervais returning as its host.
