Shawn Mendes Says He Hates Being Alone In Emotional Video Post Breakup

Both members of the former couple are working on new music, we can bet it'll be emotional!

Shawn Mendes has released a short clip of himself speaking about single life after his breakup with Camila Cabello.

In the video we see Shawn sitting at a piano and discussing how he really feels about being “alone”.

He said, “A lot of the things that also is like, resonating in the lyric for me is like, oh, f***, you know, you don’t realize, like, when you’re like, breaking up with someone, you like think it’s the right thing to do, you don’t realize all this s*** that comes after it.

“Like, who do I call when I’m like, in a panic attack? Who do I call when I’m like, f***ing, on the edge?

“I think that’s the reality that kind of hit me. It’s like, oh, I’m on my own now. Now I feel like finally, like, I’m actually on my own, and I hate that. That’s my reality, you know?”

Camila and Shawn decided to break up last November, sharing a statement online that read: “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever. We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward. Camila and Shawn.”

In January a source close to Camila has revealed that Shawn initiated the conversation about them parting ways.

Speaking to E! News, they shared that Camila was “very upset over the split,” but she “agreed” that it was probably the best thing to do.

“It was really hard for a few days but she has been spending a lot of time with friends and keeping busy,” they continued, before adding: “She has a huge support system and is feeling renewed now.”

Although both Camila and Shawn are serious about making their friendship work, that according to the insider it was “not a bad break up at all” and just came down to the relationship running its course.

“The relationship was getting stale and complacent and they decided they are better off being friends.”
