So It Looks Like Meghan Markle Will Be Attending The Met Gala

One of the biggest events of the year, the Met Gala will be taking place on May 4th, with the theme of ‘About Time: Fashion and Duration’. The guests will be asked to “explore how clothes generate temporal associations that conflate past, present and future”. So obviously, we can not wait to see what kind of get ups the stars will be walking the red carpet in. Plus, the night itself will be hosted by Meryl Streep, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Emma Stone, we already know it’s gonna be pretty amazing.

And since Meghan Markle has stepped back from her life as a royal, she’s one of the first names on the guest list, naturally. According to The Sun, Meghan has been invited to the Met Gala alongside Vogue editor Edward Enninful. The GLAMOUR.

According to an insider who spoke to the publication, “Naturally Meghan was one of the first names on the guest list, and Edward’s team are excited that the two will go together. Meghan is keen to step out occasionally without Harry so that she can establish herself once more in Hollywood.”

The Met Gala news comes a few days after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry issued a statement on their website detailing how they’re gonna go about stepping back as members of the royal family. “It is agreed that the commencement of the revised role of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will take effect Spring 2020 and undergo a 12 month review.”

The update also laid out that the couple have been granted permission to earn their own income and may pursue their own charitable interests. “The preference of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex was to continue to represent and support Her Majesty The Queen albeit in a more limited capacity, while not drawing on the Sovereign Grant.”

Right now, we’re just a little too excited to see how Meghan interprets the Met Gala theme. The countdown is on.
