It pretty much goes without saying that Timothée Chalamet has received much acclaim in his relatively short acting career. So this leaves us with two questions: Is it because of his exceptional talent or is it because of advice a certain movie star gave him? 

Let’s be real, it’s most definitely the first option but STILL, that doesn’t mean the words of wisdom that were once given to him by none other than Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t stick with him.

These words you ask? “No hard drugs and no superhero movies,” the 26-year-old actor said, sharing the advice with British Vogue for their latest cover shoot.

And as far as we call tell, it seems as though Leo’s advice has stuck with Timothée as the actor has mostly made relatively drama-filled, artistic films, excluding last year’s sci-fi epic Dune, of course.

The pair co-starred in Adam McKay’s divisive 2021 apocalypse drama Don’t Look Up but apparently, Timothée received the advice from the Titanic star back in 2018, mentioning in an interview to Time in 2021 that it came from one of his heroes. “I can’t say who or he’d kick my ass,” warned Timothée.

“I had a delusional dream in my early teenage years to have, in my late teenage years, an acting career,” he told British Vogue. But despite a wave of early acting success, he said the pandemic left him feeling unprepared for adulthood.

“I should have been trying to get my adult feet under myself a little bit earlier than I did,” he admitted. “I found myself having to really, you know, be honest with myself that where I’ve been able to get myself to in life was balls to the wall, like throwing everything at [it] at a young age that, by some miracle, got me to where I am.”

You could definitely say the young actor’s career has mirrored DiCaprio’s in many ways, earning a series of acclaimed performances at a young age and cementing himself as one of Hollywood’s most versatile and bankable leading men.

So, I guess this means no sign of Timothée in any upcoming Marvel movies then…
