Sob! Is This The Reason Lady Gaga And Taylor Kinney Called Off Their Engagement?
“We’re not trying to make you less of a man.”
Of all the horrible, messy celebrity splits that this year has seen, Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney’s made us the most sad.
The pair left us all heartbroken when they called off their engagement in July after five years together.
Gaga made the painful announcement on Instagram asking her fans for privacy, and citing conflicting schedules as the reason for the split.
“Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates,” she wrote at the time. “Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break.”
Now, Gaga has shed some light on why the couple chose to break things off – and if you’re to read into her comments, it seems that it wasn’t only busy schedules that were to blame.
Speaking of the relationship, Gaga told CBS This Morning “I think women love very hard. We love men. We just love with everything we have. Sometimes I don’t know that that love is met with the type of dignity that we wish it would be met with.”
The singer then went on to explain how she had never intended to undermine Taylor’s masculinity.
“You know, we’re not trying to make you less of a man,” she continued, hinting that gender tensions may have been at the root of her and Taylor’s split. “We just want you to love us as deeply and as wholesomely and as fully as we love you.”
Hmm, despite Taylor reportedly hooking up with Alanna DiGiovanni, a Radiologist from South Philadelphia, since the split and Gaga hinting that there was more to their breakup than meets the eye, we’ve still got everything crossed that a reunion is on the cards for these two.
We’re rooting for you guys.
